You can not possibly master permanent makeup in a two day course. You will be cutting into someone's face, you want to be sure that someone experienced is guiding you properly through the entire process.
Half of class is at home comprehensive study, second half of class is in person training, in a small class size. This course includes training on eyebrows, eyeliner and lip blushing.
It is our goal to train permanent makeup artists / technicians from all over the world to learn the latest techniques, the safest practices and to enjoy a career that is truly personally and financially rewarding everyday. If you are artistic and like working independently, spending your day doing gratifying and fulfilling creative work both personally and financially and you enjoy interacting with different types of people, this will be the best career move you have ever made!
You will be training at our facility at Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Salon Inc., in a working salon. We keep our class size very small 2-4 students only. We have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where you will learn the latest techniques and business strategies in the field of permanent makeup. You will learn to "work smarter not harder" while making money and enjoying your life! There will be many hours of hard work and study but you will have the opportunity to practice and learn the skills necessary to complete the requirements needed to receive your local Tattoo License.
Our Training Facility Location
All Classes will be held at our licensed and inspected facility located inside: Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Salon, INC., 814 South College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28403. www.dragonflypermanentmakeup.com All equipment and supplies will be provided for use during class only. Lunch will be provided on training days. There are also convenient lodging options available if necessary.
Getting Started
As a student, you understand that this training takes a basic ability to be able to draw and repeat symmetry. Student acknowledges that starting a career in micro pigmentation requires understanding their state and local health department regulations for permanent cosmetics. Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Training Facility is not responsible to obtain information concerning establishment or local permits/licenses, but we can help guide you in the right direction. Student is required to contact their own state or local health officials directly. When training in person, student is required to obtain a temporary tattoo permit from New Hanover County.
PERMANENT MAKEUP APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM 2.0
Apprentice Program 2.0
Individuals who have taken courses outside of Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Training Facility and need hands on training for a license in their state or town, refreshing of skills or need practice to be more proficient are welcome to participate after they have attended our 1.0 Program. Under guidance of an instructor, you will be able to build on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. It will help to provide you with confidence and knowledge for your career in permanent cosmetics.
Students are required to complete 12 models within the 12-month period of apprenticeship. After successful completion of the one year program the students will receive a certificate stating that he/she has completed a “One year apprenticeship program” or 200 hours of Apprenticeship. The fee for the one year/200-hour apprenticeship program is $6500.00. This includes 12 individual hands on practice sessions on live models. Students will be required to be in the salon shadowing and participating in salon activities a minimum of 16 hours per month or a minimum of 4 hours per week over the course of the contracted apprenticeship year. Additional hands-on practice sessions can be scheduled as needed for an additional charge. Each student participating in this program will be fully insured by Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Training Facility for the apprenticeship year.
Hands on practice on live Models (Individual sessions outside of the Apprenticeship Program): Students may schedule additional models to be done at our facility under the instructor’s direct supervision. (The charge for each additional hour or pmu procedure is $350.00, beyond the 12 sessions that are included if you have signed up with our Apprenticeship Program.) This program is by appointment only and is designed as an addition to our one year apprenticeship program.
Individuals who have taken courses outside of Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Training Facility and need hands on training for licensure in their state or town, refreshing of skills or need practice to be more proficient are welcome to participate after they have attended our Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Training Facility’s Permanent Makeup Fundamental PMU 1.0 Training Program.

PERMANENT MAKEUP MENTORSHIP
With Dragonfly Permanent Makeup Salon
Shannon Mackay offers an individual ONE DAY, one on one shadowing sessions for aspiring incoming technicians to our industry as well as seasoned Permanent Makeup Artist Professionals who are seeking answers about permanent makeup.
If you have gone through training and still don’t quite feel confident enough to be on your own, this mentoring session may be just what you need to get you over the hurdle that is holding you back. Contrary to our regular Permanent Makeup class, these coaching sessions offer a unique opportunity to work one on one with an industry professional.
These one-day sessions are tailored to meet your specific needs and under Shannon’s guidance and mentoring, you will be able to build on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. You will be able to see standard procedures such as Microblading/Ombre/Combo, eyeliners and blushed lips, as well as advanced procedures like eyebrow corrections, scar camouflaging/medical tattooing and scalp pigmentation.
It will also help provide you with confidence and knowledge for you to succeed in your career as a permanent cosmetics artist. These sessions with Shannon are designed for maximum impact for major breakthroughs and provide the kind of support often missing in a traditional Permanent Makeup Class setting. If you’re stuck, confused, or just want to improve on your permanent makeup skills, this is the mentoring session for you.
Shannon is willing to share some of her trade secrets to help eliminate your confusion or concerns and provide the support you need to achieve your professional goals. She will create a game plan that targets your areas of concern and eliminates hurdles by opening new options that empower you and enable you to transform your career.

Advanced Tattoo Lifting

Shannon Mackay offers an individual, one on one shadowing session for experienced technicians in our industry who are seeking to learn about permanent makeup removal.
The reality of permanent makeup is, over time after years and years of brow touch ups most every client is going to need some of that color lifted out of that brow area in order to give her back that desired color again, or if a client comes to you with a botched brow job, looking to you for help her, are you going to know how? With all of the poorly trained or newly trained artists out there, I guarantee that you are going to come across this situation. You don't want your client going somewhere else to fix their brows, of course you are going to want to help them.
In this course we will show you proper technique and talk about different solutions out there for removal. Removal can be a scary process.
We will help provide you with confidence and knowledge for you to succeed in your career as a permanent cosmetics artist.
